"I was recently communicating with representative Michelle Gonzalez regarding updating my renter's insurance. Initially I sent an email through their website, which Michelle responded to within an hour or so, which I liked. She sent me an updated renters' insurance document, reflecting that I had already paid for it recently.

However there was an issue with the document, and I sent her email back asking her to adjust it. She unfortunately didn't respond - after some hours I sent her another email, but she didn't respond to that either. She did reply by the next day apologizing for the delay and that she would be more prompt in answering my emails going forward. She gave me a copy of the new policy that would satisfy my apartment front office, so I was happy about that, since this was a time-important document. But it was still not able to be seen in my online app and it was not finalized in the official declarations page in my documents yet; she noted this.

She said that she had submitted a request to the underwriting office, who would have to adjust it, and they said it would take a few days for them to review the request first before updating a new declarations page. I said OK, and waited some days as this was a Friday; by the following Tuesday she updated me that it the estimated review date was by the end of that week to end of the following week (4-9 days) to get it fixed. I was a little dismayed that it would take so long to fix , but that was out of her control and so I didn't fault her for that. I was satisfied that she was keeping on top of the issue and had put notes on my file reminding her to keep updating me with any information.

At the end of the 9 days, there was no updates from her end so I emailed her (this was a Friday); I was pleased that she quickly noted the email and within an hour had already chatted with an underwriter, who told her that it would be fixed soon, by the beginning of the following week. She apologized that it was taking so long but promised to keep on top of it.

The following Monday, I found myself more preoccupied than usual and so didn't email or check up with her, but then the next day she emailed me saying that they had fixed the issue and that it should now be viewable on my app as an official Declarations Page document. I checked my app and she was right, it was accessible now; I was pleased that it was now taken care of.

I am giving Michelle four-stars because although initially she didn't respond to my earlier emails as quickly as I would have liked for a time-sensitive matter, she made note of her mistake and in the following emails and dealing with the underwriting office she adjusted herself well and made a point to stay on top of the issue. She was also always pleasant and professional in her emails, and seems to know how to deal well with people even when things are not going smoothly. So I did appreciate her help in that regard, and I think if she can continue to adjust to certain things in clients needs (as she did mine) then she can be a very effective Customer Service Specialist."

05/04/26 update: Just spoke with the very helpful Ashley & Daniel at Darin McCullough’s State Farm agency and, as always, these team members were fantastic to work with. Both were new names for me - I’ve been with Darin for years, but they sounded like veteran team members, they were very attentive to my multiple questions, showed that they heard and understood my questions, and went above and beyond in making sure I had answers that I understood. It continues to be a pleasure working with Darin & his growing team.
